The two countries have big difference in the level of their technological advancement but they have started a competition via holding this race. This can also be called as longest distance race ever held till now internationally. This is the race from one planet to another. Well, The motive of this race is to successfully finish this rather than winning.
You may have already guessed, I am talking about the inter-planetary race from Earth to Mars between "United States of America" and "India". The NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), USA has already finished this Space Race yesterday by successfully setting up its "MAVEN" spacecraft in the orbit of Mars. The "MOM" spacecraft of ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), India is pending on Wednesday (Day after tomorrow).
NASA is very old and technologically advanced in this field. So, It may not affect growth rate of USA much via successfully inserting its spacecraft in orbit of MARS. Two of its spacecraft are already crawling on the land of mars. If MOM of ISRO gets inserted successfully. This is going to boom the growth rate of not only INDIA but also of the world. A very large section of world population lives in this country. Success of MOM will bring a huge psychological change in citizens of India. Research culture will take boom. Existing organizations will start advancing either themselves or via considering new competition as a factor. Entrepreneurial skills are already accelerating high in this country. So, You could image the psychological shift after success of this project.
This is all mine personal analogy on this new kind of space war.
